The clinical study behind Jabushe

The study behind Jabushe is a placebo-controlled, double-blind study. The fact that the study is placebo-controlled means that active cream was applied to one half of the face and placebo cream to the other half. The double-blind nature of the study means that it was carried out by an independent person, where neither the person carrying out the test nor the test subject knows which cream contains the active substance and which is the placebo. This is to ensure the objectivity of the study and a reliable result.

The study lasted 3 months, 33 people took part. They were all in the age group 40 - 75 years.

The subjects all had some UV damage to their skin. None of them had previously undergone any kind of treatment with e.g. vitamin A acid or equivalent. They used the cream twice a day and had special precautions regarding cleaning etc. All treated their skin in exactly the same way.

A cream that did not contain lipoic acid was used as a placebo - otherwise it was completely identical to the test cream. The cream base was of high quality and therefore had some effect, as most creams do. However, the difference is highly remarkable and the figures are statistically significant.

Results of clinical study of Jabushe
Before
Scanning the skin before using Jabushe
After three months, there was a significant improvement in the fine lines of the skin on the side treated with QAL-100. Pigmentation as well as pore size had decreased, bags under the eyes were reduced and the skin had regained its elasticity and radiance.

Results of the study

  • Wrinkle depth reduced by 51% on average
  • Pores reduced in size
  • Bags under the eyes were reduced
  • Skin regained elasticity and radiance

Performance was measured using four methods

42% Overall clinical assessment

58% Self-assessment

39% Photographic assessment

51% Laser profilometric assessment
